Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 Delayed Again

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3, the deadeye dick franchise from Polish publishers and developers CI Games (Lords of the Fallen) has been delayed further into 2017. CI Games announced that the game’s release date will shift from its previous date of January 27, 2017 to the new global release date of April 4, 2017.

Marek Tymiński, CEO of CI Games, said that the decision to further delay the title was to ensure the best possible optimisation for all three platforms (PC, PS4 and XB1) when the game launches.

We’re making an ambitious game and unfortunately still need an extra few months to make sure it will stand up to the expectations of the fans. Our goal is to ensure Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 runs smoothly on all platforms, and right now we still have some important work left on optimizing the game. This is our biggest project we’ve ever worked on and the entire team is pushing really hard to make the entire experience more polished. I really hope everyone will understand our decision and will wait the extra time to play something we’re excited about, and that will redefine our IP and the sniping genre as a whole. This is a new beginning for the Sniper: Ghost Warrior series.

Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3, which was originally slated for a late 2016 release, follows the series’ new protagonist, John North, as he attempts to track down his brother in the Eastern European country of Georgia. In order to complete your mission, players will traverse large open-world maps, have access to an array of weapon customisation options and channel one of the three different play styles available (Sniper, Ghost and the Warrior), or mix them together to be the ultimate lethal warrior of the shadows.

I agree that the twitchcon trailer looks good and it moving the release date might let them make the game even better but it’s a shame that we’ll have to wait for the game until April.

    • I agree it’s disappointing that it’s been further delayed. However, it’s good for me personally as I was going to be in Europe when the game launched. Meaning I’ll be here to cover it when it releases. Plus, I am glad they aren’t going to release it with a slew of tech issues. This is exactly what Deep Silver should have done with Homefront: The Revolution.

Honestlyy I’m very disappointed but I will still waiting for this game. Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 is not first big game which release day is delayed so is nothing new. I hope it will be last one delayed and this game will be released on April.

Hard feeling, but for better optimization I will wait this 3 months with pleasure. Don’t know why but I have bad feeling, that this delay is caused by next gen consoles. They have always problems with optimization.

I understad your feelings and i hope, that you understand, that CI Games want to avoid 0day patch and many not necessary positive opinons, about glitchy game, which was propduced so long. Im waiting too rfor this game and delay wasn’t news that i was waiting for. Neverthless i belive, that they will make this game running smooth on every platform without need to release some patches after release.

For sure, pity that I need to wait some more time, but now I might play first in SE4 , and more hungry I will play on SGW3. Hope they do their best for better optimization.

Its a good idea to delay premiere, than release a game that contains technical issues. I know, that addiditonal two months of waiting can be iritating, but we must remember its all for our good experience:)
